I started my information security career as a “Network Defender” in an OCONUS MAJCOM SOC while serving Active Duty U.S. Air Force. After medical retirement, I worked for Boeing Space & Defense on several classified US government as well as unclassified commercial space programs. Along the way, I earned my Masters degree in Information Technology, Information Assurance and ISC2 CISSP certification. I eventually exited “SCIF-life” and joined Tenable as a Senior Security Consultant to assist 150+ clients globally who were in across a variety of industries.

Throughout my 20 year career I have noticed that regardless of size, network complexity, and industry, many organizations struggle solving the same cyber security challenges. I have been fortunate to have helped many companies solve these problems through policy, process, people, software, hardware, and/or a combination of these. Based on these successful experiences, I followed through on the advice and encouragement from dozens of satisfied clients (and my wonderful wife!) and decided to create Vasquez Security Consulting dba VasSecCo to provide customized cyber security consulting services.
